SHINee held their debut event on July 28th at Tokyo Nakano Sun Plaza. The group performed their debut single, “Replay ~ Kimi wa boku no Everything~“, as well as three other songs. Additionally, they also announced the release of their second single, “JULIETTE“ on August 29th.

Main vocalist Jonghyun hinted about their new song, “It’s a song that’ll make your heart race.”

This debut event will continue until August 11th, as it visits various cities across Japan. By the end of the debut event tour, SHINee will have catered to approximately 30,000 fans.

SHINee, First-Ever to Receive the ‘Gold Disc Certificate’ as Korean Boy Group!

SHINee made a great achievement by receiving the ‘Gold Disc Certificate’ for the first time as a Korean boy group.

SHINee’s Japanese debut single, ‘Replay- 君は僕のEverything (너는 나의 모든 것),’ which was released on the 22nd, received the Gold Disc Certificate from the Japanese Record Association. Gold Disc Certificate is awarded to the album that has been sold over 100,000 copies.

Since this is the first time as a Korean boy group, it proved SHINee’s high popularity in Japan once again.

Also, SHINee sold more than 91,000 copies of their Japanese debut single, ‘Replay- 君は僕のEverything (너는 나의 모든 것)’ in the first week of its release and this record is the highest sales of Japanese debut single as a Korean group. Moreover, SHINee has been receiving an enthusiastic response by ranking 2nd on the Oricon weekly single chart so the expectation for SHINee’s activity in Japan is increasing rapidly.

Additionally, since SHINee is scheduled to hold ‘SHINee JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION’ TOUR’ by touring cities in Japan such as Fukuoka(7/22), Kobe(7/23), Tokyo(7/27~28), Sapporo(8/8) and Nagoya(8/11), it is predicted to make Japanese fans to be excited.

(A/N: SM stocks closed at 20,150 today and its up 6.61% – the highest growth rate this year. News sites are calling this the "SHINee Effect'.

SHINee’s debut album sales hit oricon charts at 2nd place upon release, beating out big-name Japanese artists such as AAA, T.M. Revolution, GReeeeN, and Dir En Grey. 120,000 copies of the debut single were made for the first shipments, which means its marketing is made through Youtube. It has a positive effect on SM Entertainment’s sales.

SM Entertainment stocks are showing strong as the visible results of “New Korean Wave” are confirmed.

In the Kosdaq market on June 24, SM stocks are being traded at 19,400 Won (currently 9:13 a.m.), 2.65% up from the previous day.

Daewoo Securities presented SM’s stock goal price as 30,000 Won with a comment that SM artists are making good sales overseas.

SHINee, having overtaken Super Junior's first-week record (59,262) with 68,685 copies sold in only 2 days, are well on their way to setting records for kpop groups in Japan as they have already surpassed the highest sales of first week of sales for any kpop debut.
